Happy International Women’s day! To celebrate the occasion the artist and stage designer Es Devlin has paid tribute to the magnificent Charlotte Perriand, pioneering architect, designer, sportswoman, global traveller and free spirit by recreating her famous 1920s photo. Perriand's ideas and vision did so much to shape the modern world, so the women of The Art Newspaper are also striking her triumphant pose and channeling her spirit in the knowledge that a century later there is still much work to be done to make sure our voices are heard and our rights respected! (A show saluting Perriand’s life and achievements opens at the Design Museum in London on 19 June.)
